About 60 civil servants will benefit from English language courses

Twinning English/ professional skills courses for employees of public administration involved in the implementation of Twinning, TAIEX, Sigma and Comprehensive Instituion Building Programme, were officially launched today, February 20. The courses were a joint initiative of the State Chancellery (Foreign Aid Division) and the EU project „Support to the State Chancellery – TTSIB”.

These will take place during an academic year, twice a week, lasting two hours. Candidates nominated by public authorities underwent a rigorous selection procedure, being divided into three groups, according to their level of English language skills – advanced, higher intermediary and lower intermediary.

The major goal of the Twinning English/Professional Skills Training Programme is to contribute to increasing efficiency and effectiveness of preparation and implementation of international assistance projects, including the Twinning projects in Moldova and provide additional motivation to their promoters and implementers.

At the inauguration event, the Head of the Foreign Aid Division of the State Chancellery, Ms Lucretia Ciurea, as well as the Team Leader of the EU Project „Support to the State Chancellery – TTSIB” thanked the participants for their interest towards the initiative and wished them success in their English skills consolidation. According to Dr Janos Zakonyi, the respective courses are based on the real needs of the ministries and will contribute to a better understanding between the experts of the Republic of Moldova and their counterparts within jointly implemented projects.

At the end of the courses, participants will get corresponsing certificates.
Twinning English / Professional Skills courses are rendered to civil servants with no charge, all expenses being covered by the EU Project „Support to the State Chancellery – TTSIB”.
